Hello! Well here is the week.... it's the same ole same ole intro, but the rest of it is different Haha
Wednesday was a pretty good day. We started out with district council and that went really well. We had a good discussion about replacing the fear of failure with the joy of trying. We also talked about Facebook finding trying to come up with some new out of the box ideas to contact on facebook. The facebook learning curve is gonna take a while:)). Then we had some good ole lunch and then went to meet the other elders and the sisters at the park with some members for like a get together thing. Well it turned out to be just us missionaries and a mom and her kid Haha. But hey we still had a good time chatting. But that didn't last too long, so we headed back to get some studies done. After studies...we pretty much had some dinner and the night consisted of the Facebook find n grind...and a walk to get out of the apartment :)).
Thursday was a way fun day. We got to go over to a members home and do tons of service for him which was way fun. We pulled lots of weeds, killed lots of spiders in the process, cut down a bunch of small bushes, and we stacked wood as well. Veli Grönlund also tried to teach us how to shoot with a hockey puck and that was hard... cause he only had lefty sticks so it was weird but not bad. So we had some fun with that and we also had kebab for lunch. The weather was way nice and warm so we also got some sun...but we are still pasty white Haha. Later that night we had a gospel study with the Kuopio elders. Elder Aitken and Dosset. That was way fun getting to chat with Elder Aitken again cause he's just a bro and we have become good friends. And the night ended with a zoom call and Sister Aura did a language moment and had a few games for us to play with finding stuff in the Book of Mormon.... so that was way fun as well!! Over all just a fun day!
Friday was a pretty good day and it went by really fast. But we started some weekly planning in the morning and got what we could done. Then the Elders came over so we could walk together to a soccer field, cause we were meeting a guy to play soccer with him and a friend. The other elders found him on facebook and started talking with him but he lived in our area so we did a joint soccer game with them and him and it was way fun. We also met his friend who was just about our age as well and got to chat with him as well. Playing soccer was way fun and reminded me of the Saturdays where I would play soccer with our group of friends from Nigeria. If y'all are interested.... my soccer skills still suck but that's okay haha. Then that afternoon and night we had some language study, we met with our awesome returning member Jukka Pekka and we read in the Book of Mormon with him and we talked about Nephis vision in chapter 12 of 1 Nephi. And as always you know we are on that Facebook find n grind. And after our day was over I spent the time before going to bed ironing a bunch of shirts and that was oddly relaxing Haha.
Saturday was a more normal day. We had a good time doing Facebook in the morning. Facebook finding has been a bit hard lately trying to find people so I joined some religion discussion groups. We will see how that goes Haha. I made a post in one and it seemed to go well and nobody wanted to argue. But there is one guy on there that commented and believes that Jesus only loves his people, the israelite people and nobody else. Cause apparently it says that in the bible. Guess I'll need to brush up on my reading haha. But we were able to get some stuff going so we will see what happens. We then taught Elder Larson's aunt some more English and that was pretty fun to do. Teaching English just makes me realize how hard English actually is.... and I'm so thankful that I already speak that langahge haha. Had some dinner, did gospel study with the Pori elders which was pretty fun. Saturday was just a pretty normal chill fun day!
Sunday we headed off to church in the morning and met the other missionaries for church. We watched church and Elder Kimball was speaking in church and he made a lion king reference in his talk which was pretty funny. After church we had come follow me time and we ended up on the topic of recognizing false doctrine and then we ended up on this big ol conversation about how to help people learn true and correct principles without getting into an argument with them which was good. We had lunch and played this way fun game called COUP again during lunch. Came home and did some comp study and Finnish study. We also replied to a lot of people that had replied to a post I made in a religious discussion group and so far so good. We also gave a spiritual thought to Elder Larsons' family and then I had the wonderful opportunity to call our district members! Calling the district is so fun...I love getting to chat with them all and hear about their weeks.
Sorry for the shorter email this week. Honestly just don't have that much jaksaa this week and we have a fun day planned!
