Well this week has been going by way fast.. and bam we got another p day:)) We had a lot going on this week so it went by pretty fast. Here are the good news of what happened:)
Wednesday was a pretty fun day. We had district council and it was on the computers so it was fun but not as fun as if it were in person Haha. But it was good and we talked about how we can help people keep commitments and what the purpose is of giving commitments. We had some lunch and then some studies and headed off to a lesson with a former investigator. Well we walked in thinking we were just teaching him. And then he tells us " oh I got a friend over" and we're like that's not a problem. Then the doorbell rings. "Oh yeah I got another friend coming over" so there we were, Elder Chugg and I with these 3 guys from Africa. And what do you know, they are all pastors:). All three of them. And I'm thinking "yay another lesson where they want to bash us and they have friends." But luckily I was wrong.... it turned out to be pretty good! I guess missionaries in the past have just had one and done lessons with these guys. They asked if they could see us again and we said yes. We talked about the restoration, the Book of Mormon, and prophets, and the priesthood and all sorts of stuff. They seemed pretty interested in what we believed and had some way good questions. So we would answer and we would have some way good conversations about these topics and it was great!! Turned out to be a pretty good meeting. That meeting went a little longer than we were expecting but it was okay. We just had dinner after and tracted the night out and that was our day.
Thursday really not all that much happened. We had a good long day of tracting and knocking doors. We met this way cool guy. We noticed he had an American flag and so that just made me happy to see. So we started chatting with him and he invited us in to his like man cave as I would call it. And it is covered head to toe with all these old western guns, pictures of Indians and cowboys..and maps of Arizona. Just had a ton of old stuff from America that had to do with the cowboys and Indians. We chatted with him for a little bit and he was telling us about some of the stuff. So that was cool and we got some cool pictures. After the visit we had some lunch and studies. Then we went out tracting. We have been doing a lot of tracting cause everyone seems to be out of town and can't meet with us. We did have a cool experience after dinner. We went to follow up with a potential/investigator. She was way busy but we helped her our move some things outside their house and then we sat on their back porch over looking the sea and had a way nice chat. We had a way good conversation about Heavenly Father and his love for us...prayer and how it helps us. She was asking about missions. She told us that when she was younger she had visited Salt Lake and came back and told her mom she wanted to become a Mormon. Her mom talked her out of it... but ever since then...she has been really curious about our church. She is a slow mover cause she is really busy and works a ton, but she is an awesome lady and was cracking me up Haha. She's hilarious Haha. That was a really good way to end the night:) We helped her some more and then headed home.
Friday was a pretty good day. We got up and did our studies. We headed out early to do some tracting. We started and then we were like three doors in and this person came out to find us knocking doors... and told us to leave. So that started off good:)) We went to some other houses to tract so we wouldn't make them mad that we stayed close by. We got to talk to a few people:) We got back for lunch and we started weekly planning. I feel like we always weekly plan cause it always seems to be weekly planning day Haha. But that went by pretty quickly and we planned for the next week. With our dinner we attempted to make our own homemade bread sticks and it turned out pretty good. That night we had a good block of just following up with people and doing area book work trying to get some of that done. So we drove around to people's places and checked to see if any were still interested or if they even lived there anymore Haha. Cool story from the day though. We were about to finish weekly planning and we got a call from the Turku Elders and they called us cause they wanted to share a story with us. Turns out some guy that Elder Chugg and I had talked to a few weeks ago moved to Turku. The elders there found him on the street and talked with him and he went on to tell the elders that he had talked to us before and he even remembered our names:) He told them that he had a good experience with us and we had a good conversation with us. We didn't get anything from it but now he is willing to meet with the elders in Turku. So that was a pretty cool story to hear!:)
Saturday was a pretty good day. We went tracting in a new neighborhood and they had a lot of nice houses there. They were some pretty nice people as well which made it better Haha. It was actually a little chilly in the morning but like an hour later it was fine. We knocked doors all morning and then we came back for lunch and studies. We went out to tract for a little bit after cause we were going to play soccer with some of the ward members... so we tracted a bit and then went to play soccer. Those Nepalese guys were there again so we played against them. This time we kicked their butts. I was quite proud of myself I had a few goals so yes...I know.. I'm pretty good:)) But it was fun and they are way nice guys so it's fun to play with them. We played for a little bit and then we had to go and we finished the night out tracting and street contacting. We had this nice old lady answer the door and we were having a good conversation and she was in a good mood. Then we told her who we were and it was kinda funny how quickly her mood changed and she told us about the bible:)). I can't remember what day it was but we had another lady tell us how we can find the correct answers through the bible and she would pray that we find the right answers:)) It's pretty funny when they tell us this so I get a kick out of it. But we tracted and talked to some way cool people and had some good conversations with them so that was awesome. Pretty busy day with tracting but it was good!!
Sunday we had church. A lot of the members were gone....everyone is taking their last few trips before school and some work starts again. But church was good. Some members asked us if we wanted dinner this next week so that was great!... we love dinner appointments:)). After church we went back and did some studies and then we went out tracting. That afternoon we were just pounding the doors and we got through a few streets and one street every single person answered except one door ....so we got to talk to a lot of people. We some guy try to tell us that all we need is the bible and we haven't accepted Jesus into our hearts:). But we talked to a couple of people who said we could come back so that was awesome. And since it was fast Sunday we came home and made ourselves country fried steaks and potatoes and had a way nice meal for dinner:) That night we went out tracting and went to follow up with a lot of people that have told us that we could come back. Me and elder Chugg had a good time...even though some of them changed their minds about us coming back. It's ok:).
Monday was a really quick day. We just tracted all day and the day just went by so fast. Who knew time would fly by knocking doors haha. But not much happened. We got to meet with a less active and this time we didn't hear about kayaking. This time it was boats and airplanes. He switched it up on us Haha but we had a good time. And we talked to this lady on the street for 30 min cause there was literally not a soul out and she was happy to talk to us but wasn't all that interested. Sorry not much to go for Monday.
Well it's been a great week here at the gym in Vaasa Haha. We get transfer calls on Friday and so that will be pretty exciting. My p day gets moved to Monday cause of transfers.
Hope yall have a good week!
Elder Love out
