This week has been really good here in good ole Kajaani. We have just been tracting a lot going up a thousand stair cases and walking the streets at night in the cold... so it has been fun. Had a great time getting to teach one of our investigators and also had a lot of people cancel on us this week. That was a bit of a bummer, but it's okay because we will try again and meet with them this week! I thought with my email this week since the time is really limited I would write my email a little differently and not really cover much from what happened this week, but instead just bear a quick testimony.
I know that God lives and he cares about each and every one of us. He is always there watching over us. For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believeth in him shall not perish but have everlasting life. Switch "The World" for "You" For God so loved YOU that he gave his only begotten son. Christ would have done it all even if you were just the one soul that needed to be saved. That is how much he cares about us. It shows how much he loves us. He would die for just you so that you may be saved. I know that he is there guiding us and sometimes we may get frustrated with what's going on, but he knows what's best for us and so we just got to put our trust and faith in him. I know that the Book of Mormon is true. It took me a while to figure this out before my mission, because I honestly was not the best at reading my scriptures and some of you know that. I know that it is true and that it will answer any question that you have. It has all answers.. all you got to do is open it and read. That is how you find your answer.. it will be written out for you in black and white. I know that through it we can receive the answers that we are looking for... we can receive that peace and joy from it. We can feel Gods love for us as we read it. It was given to us for a reason so we should probably read it right. There is so much that we can learn from it. I know that Joseph Smith was a true prophet. Someone at that age and at that time never would have gone through all the trials that Joseph experienced if it was not true. I know that Joseph really did see God the Father and Jesus Christ. This is the restored and true church. We are so lucky to have that on the earth today. That we are able to have the priesthood restored and that we have a prophet to guide us through these latter days. I know that Russell M. Nelson is a true prophet, and that he is guided to lead this church. I know that prayer works. It is more powerful that we think it is. Prayer is a wonderful gift that we have to be able to communicate with our Father in heaven. How nice is it that we can talk to him anytime and anywhere. All we got to do is start talking because he is always listening. He listens and answers prayers. I have seen it in my life and I'm sure you have seen it too. It mentions in D&C section 18 I think verses 8-10. ( This could be a different verse that I'm thinking of.... but I'm positive that this is the right reference hahah) It talks about how great the Fathers joy is if we bring but 1 soul unto him. A lot of us think that we have to bring someone. In reality though sometimes that one soul that we need to bring is ourselves. If we can just bring ourselves to Christ, be converted and fully give ourselves to him... How great will be his joy. The whole idea of the plan was to make it so we could come back to him right? That's all he wants, is to have us be able to return to him. In Enos 1:27 it talks about him dying and having him return to the Father. He says that he will see his face and he will say " Come unto me ye blessed, there is a place prepared for you in the mansions of my father" (Again probably didn't quote it right but you get the gist haha) He has a place prepared for us, he just wants us to be able to return to him. He is prepared to receive us, we just have to bring ourselves to him. I know that Christ cares for each and every one of us. Sometimes that is the first thing we need to learn. That's why it's the first point we teach as missionaries, To help people find and know that Christ loves them. I know that when we do figure this out, our lives will be blessed and we will be able to come closer to Christ, All we got to do is take the first step and he will help us along the way. We may feel like we start alone but as soon as we take that first step we will realize that Christ was there at the starting line with us. He was just waiting for us to start so that we would not have to run this race of life alone. He will be there until the end with each and every one of us. He will never leave our side, never has and never will. All because he truly loves us.
I hope that you all have a great week this week and that you are able to recognize all the blessings that Christ gives us each and every day. He is always there... just sometimes you have to look a little bit to recognize that he is there.
I love being a missionary and even though this language is kicking my butt, I am loving every second that I have to be with the people of Finland. It is one of the greatest experiences.
Live life to the fullest cause that's the best way to live it.
Love yall,
