Wednesday last week was just a pretty normal day as a missionary... we had district meeting and that was really fun. It is always fun to get together with the district. We then for the rest of the day went out to tract in Mankaa and we wandered around trying to street contact people while looking for good tracting spots. We found some but turns out all the buildings had codes on them and since we don't know the code... we can't get in:)). We tried to figure it out and guess but that didn't work... so we just street contacted and walked around in the cold and made our way to the metro:)). We have been getting dumped on with snow this last week so we have gotten a ton:))
Thursday we got up and did all our studies in the morning and then went out to do some more tracting. Sadly a lot of people did not feel like listening to us that day... and so they either don't open the door ...or they open it and either in a kind or rude manner will tell you that they are not interested. You never know what you're gonna get:)) We also had a lesson planned for a former investigator and they ditched us as well... so guess what that means? We had the wonderful opportunity to go and metro contact hahah. Metro contacting is my favorite cause there are so many people and we managed to find a few people who may be interested ....so we are gonna follow up with them to see what happens.
Friday was a really fun day, so we did all our studies in the morning and then immediately started weekly planning cause we needed to get that done, cause our afternoon and night were full of things we had already planned! We had a DA with one of our members and he bought us Kebab and that was way good. Seriously y'all need to find yourself some kebab, cause it's amazing.... you wrap all this stuff in a tortilla and mix it with a bunch of other stuff that I don't really know what it is....but its really good!! After our DA we got a ride from him to go meet an investigator at a YSA Sähly night, and that was great! One,because he actually showed up and two, we got to play sähly with a bunch of YSA and that was a ton of fun!! Let me tell ya... the Finns don't mess around with sähly and they are dang good at it! After our wonderful activity, we chatted with the YSA and introduced our investigator so he can make some friends and be able to go to some more YSA activities with them. And we finished the night out just doing some contacting and it was great! We didn't find a soul who was interested but we are trying our best, and that's all that matters right. We stop everyone... and if they reject us... then they will say yes to someone else when they are ready.
Saturday started out with our usual sports morning... but the sisters thought it was too cold to go out and play soccer, so we got our young member friends and investigators to the church and we played ping pong! And not to brag or anything but I ended up as our around the world ping pong champ haha. After that we did some area book work and started calling potentials and formers. Espoo is going a little rough right now cause literally nobody wants to answer the phone, text us back, or after they tell us they are interested,we call and then they drop us. So trying to find new people to teach is a bit of a struggle.... but we're still going strong to find people and we will find them eventually. They are probably stuck in the snow somewhere... we just gotta help them out:)). We got to meet with an investigator and he always wants to start by meeting us at Burger King and giving us coupons:)) We had a good lesson with him and he's been moving pretty slowly... but I think we are finally starting to pick up his pace a bit cause that leads us to Sunday....
WHERE HE FINALLY CAME TO CHURCH!!! We finally got him to commit to coming to church and he showed up!!! I was way happy to see him... but also tired and sweaty cause me and Elder Englund had just finished shoveling the ENTIRE church parking lot!! We have a tiny church and parking lot...but still, it was a ton of snow to shovel:) We had church, and again the same sweet old lady brought us our Fazer chocolate bars:) and then invited us over for dinner on Monday night... and of course we said yes!!.The rest of the day was just tracting out in the -20 degree weather:). That is way fun and way cold:)
Monday we had another district meeting cause it got moved... so we had that in the morning. We then went to ISO Omena to meet a potential for a possible lesson... and guess what! They did not show up:))..so we left and went out street contacting and talked to some people. We went over for our DA with this old lady, her husband and daughter in law and had some bomb food. It was chicken breast with some curry gravy on it, veggies (Which I ate all servings of it cause it tasted good in the gravy:))) and then a ton of fruit with potatoes:) While we were eating she showed us picture books of all the places she's been...and she has literally been everywhere! I've also decided that I want to take a trip to the Maldives sometime in my life!!:)) And then she rambled on telling all sorts of stories:)). They are by far my favorite family in the ward and they are hilarious... so I love talking to them:)).
Then today is p day and we get to go to the temple!!
Hope y'all have a good week!
