Tuesday we went and dropped Elder Englund off at the train station cause he was moving to Tampere that morning. We said our goodbyes, and then it was back to preaching two by two. On our way back, me and Elder Fitzpatrick stopped by wetzels pretzels and we talked to a way cool guy from California who had opened the pretzel shop here. Later that day we went to one of the Filipinos in our ward and gave them a blessing cause they were sick. That was a cool experience! It is a wonderful opportunity to be able to go and give someone a blessing who is in need. After visiting with them we went and headed to Hentaa and did a little bit of tracting before we headed to the church for Finnish and English hour. The sisters teach people English and we teach the other people Finnish and it is a lot of fun!
Wednesday was a pretty fun day... we had a good tracting block in the afternoon and got to talk to some people... but sadly nobody was interested. Sometimes it just takes a little bit of time to find the ones that are ready to hear the message... but you just got to get through all the no's first before you find the yes.We also had a dinner appointment with an old couple in our ward again. They have us over about every week and it is just a blast when you go over there haha, We have a lot of fun with them just chatting and joking around..so it's fun to be with them. Just an awesome couple . Wish you could meet them cause they are hilarious:))
Thursday we had district council and that was a lot of fun! We got to meet the missionaries that had gotten transferred down here to Espoo. It was fun just getting to chat with them and get to know them.... and we were all discussing on how we can have this be a really successful transfer... it was a really good meeting. We all ate lunch together and chatted after and it was really fun. We got a really good district so its fun when we get to hang out with them. Later that day we had a good little tractig block out in Otaniemi which is in the student housing of the university and we get to talk to quite a bit of people there. It's nice to get a lot of conversations going. Got a lot of No's but that is okay... and we will go and continue to talk to more people.
Friday we went out and went tracting for people and for doors. In Espoo a lot of the buildings are locked with pin codes on them so we can't really get into them, unless some other missionaries have figured them out:)) We were specifically looking for buildings with doors that were open, cause trying to guess the combo is hecka hard haha. But we went out into a new area that we had not been to before and we walked into a gold mine! There was just this street that we had found and none of the doors had ever been tracted and there was a complex that had over 150 doors! That was huge for us cause we were running out of places to go. But that day we ended up finding a little over 400 new doors to knock and in our book that was 400 new potential investigators... we just gotta find them:)). That afternoon we had weekly planning and we had to get that done cause we had to head over to a members house at 7 for some dinner. Well we had a good weekly planning session and we got over to the members home and it was this guy's wife's birthday party! There were so many Filipinos in this apartment...and they were all taking turns on the karaoke machine.... and me and my comp were like oh no, we are not singing tonight haha. So we chatted with the members and we were eating some way good Filipino food. Our time is drawing closer till we have to go. They hadn't gotten us yet with the karaoke machine and we were avoiding it at all cost. Well, there comes to point in a missionary's life were they ask you when you are gonna go on the karaoke machine and you keep eating to avoid it and then you get full. Then you are trapped. So for the first time in my life I sang karaoke with my comp with a bunch of Filipinos hahaha. Literally the scariest thing ever!!!:) But we made it and they were all happy that we sang and scored some huge brownie points with them... and then we left before they could get us with another song to sing haha.
Friday... the biggest highlight of the day was that we got to meet with our investigator and continue to teach him the commandments and help him prepare for baptism. This guy is awesome!! He is going for his second masters degree, going to school, working, expecting a kid any day now and he still makes time for us to come over every Saturday night. He is just so awesome and a funny guy. When we came over he was watching Barcelona play... and he was so giddy and dancing when Messi scored the game winning goal to take the lead... with 5 min left in the match:))
Sunday we had church and that was fun to get to chat with members.... and we spent a lot of time tracting and talked with some really nice old ladies.. it was great:))
Then on Monday we went out tracting and didn't find anyone... but found a really nice man who just got all mad at us at the door and yelled at us cause we were Americans.. and we represented evil things... cause according to him God is evil. So he was a hoot to talk to and we just continued on with our day:).
That's about all I got for this week... it's just gone by so fast... the time just flies!! Hope ya'll have a good week!
