Wednesday we had district council and that was a lot of fun!! Getting together with the district is a blast! We had the zone leaders there as well and that made it pretty fun cause we don't get to see them all too often.
We had some pretty good discussions about how we can help the people that we are teaching and help them attend church and general conference. That afternoon we had a DA with a member family and the sisters were there as well. That was a lot of fun and these members are so funny and they made some pretty good meatloaf and potatoes... so that is always a bonus when you have good food. Then they whipped out this desert which was like an apple pie but not in pie form:)).. don't know what to call it but that was dang good as well:))
Thursday: Not gonna lie I do not remember what happened on this day. I think this is the day when we went tracting in Otaniemi and we went into the first building and the first door we knocked, they just yelled at us and told us to go someplace not very nice.. and told us to get out of their building. Then the next building we went to...the first door we knocked at got slammed in our faces before a word got out. We were in for a very good tracting block:)) Nights like these make tracting entertaining sometimes:)). And door by door we knock and nothing haha. So it was kind of a long tracting block but we kept going!:))
Friday: We had a service project to help and elderly couple in our ward move some stuff in their home... cause they were reorganizing things to make some more room in their home. So they brought in the big guns to help lift the heavy things which really were not all that heavy and move them around. After that they had made us some food while we were helping them out... and we sat down and had a really good meal with them and we talked about american tv shows and their favorite ones haha. I was surprised as to how many of the smaller shows that not too many people know, they knew about them:). I am not sure if that sentence made sense at all but I think you get the point:)). Then we went back to our apartment and we did some weekly planning and planned for the next week. Weekly planning takes a really long time but I enjoy getting to sit down and figure out how to help our investigators and what our plans are for them. Plus when you go into the next week you have a good idea of what is happening and what to look forward to. Now we should probably look forward to every day but let's be honest here... we all have the weekly works ranked:))
Saturday: We started out the day by going to play soccer with our investigator and his friends from Nigeria. We had a lot more people there this week and we played on the full field and it was so much fun! You get pretty tired running all over the place but it's good for me:))The guys that we play with are so much fun, and it's hard to get all their names ...but we are working on it. It will just take some time:)) We went back and did some studies and had lunch and we planned for a lesson that we had right before conference. Well they didn't show up until conference which I guess is okay...cause they watched conference with us! And it was a good session and the start to a good conference.
Sunday: We were at the church pretty much all day watching conference and hanging out with the missionaries that were there... and the investigator that came. It was awesome too cause lot of the talks that were given I think really applied to what our friend was looking for and help answer a lot of his questions. It was awesome! And even though President Nelson pretty much called all the men of the church to repentance during the priesthood session it was one of my favorite talks. The whole Saturday afternoon session was awesome. Same with the Sunday morning one.... and I am excited to read the Sunday afternoon session cause we didn't get to watch it:)). We had to go to bed before it started:)).
Yesterday: We had just a ton of people calling us, potentials and other missionaries and it was just insane. We got a lesson set up for that day and we met with him and we learned a lot about the islamic faith cause he told us about it and what they believed. Pretty interesting to hear what they have to say but also a little confusing. We had a lesson with a referral that we had gotten and he is AWESOME!! He is such a cool guy, and we were teaching him the restoration and he just told us that he felt good about what we were saying...and any time we invited him to do something and to come to church and read the book of mormon he always answered with "Why Not". He was just so willing to try everything cause he is really looking for the truth... so it was just so cool to meet with him and we are very excited to meet with him again.
They people here in Finland are amazing and that includes the fins and all of the foreigners here. Just love getting to talk with them and get to know them. Seeing the gospel change their lives very subtly till they get it. Its awesome!!
Hope you all have a great week!
