#54 Great week and a Great Burrito!:)

Hey guys!!  So it's been another week!  Thanks to all the subscribers who read the weekly letters. I do really love all the followers haha. Just kidding! If you don't want to read.. then I guess you save yourself about 5 min of your day. But if you do read it...then I hope you enjoy it!:)
Wednesday was a pretty good day. We got up and did studies and then we went to district council. It was fun cause it was in person this week so it was fun to see everyone there. We had a good district council talking about zone conference and reviewing it. And lunch with the district is always fun cause we can just chat. But then for the rest of the day we were contacting. We had 2 lessons fall through on us which was a bummer but it's okay... cause we drove to find all of the student housing buildings... which is my absolute favorite!Tracting student housing is so much fun, some of the best tracting memories are from tracting student housing. So we went to find all those. Then that night we were gonna tract...but the weather was so nice so we decided to go contacting. Well we walked by the beach and ALL the new freshman were out playing games and having like a get to know people night with games to welcome the new people. Well we got some gelato and watched them play some games and continued tracting. We happened to walk by where all the international students were and they invited us to come play with them. They had this game with buckets of water and a soccer ball  and it was set up just like beer pong. But the good thing about this game is you just play and you don't drink anything... so they invited us to come toss the ball and see if we could make it into any of the buckets. Me and Elder Andersen did pretty good and made a bucket pretty quick and talked to a lot of the international students... so that was fun to talk with them. It looked like a lot of fun so it made me excited for college:) The great thing is that at freshman orientation at BYU there won't be any beer... so that is gonna make it more fun Haha. But then that night we visited our friend. He has been struggling with the word of wisdom. But lately we have been talking to him and being pretty straight forward with him and it's been working. He knows that we are just being straight forward cause we want to help and we care about the guy. But he goes on to tell me he's like "Love..." that's what he calls me...and  then proceeds to tell me that he's serious this time. That he is gonna stop drinking, and he's gonna start going through the addiction program...and he wants to meet with us again and he'll come to church. So Sunday we were walking to church together. He's been a former investigator but we keep in contact cause he's way nice and we went fishing with him. We have bonded and just become really good friends... so it's been cool to get to know him and now he wants to meet with us. So that was an awesome way to end the night!
Thursday we had a busy day. We got up and did studies in the morning and then we headed over to a member family to help them move. Lucky for us it was a really easy moved cause they were just moving across the street... so you just picked up stuff and moved it from one side of the street to the other pretty much. But there was a lot to do...so we moved quite a bit. That took up the most of our day cause we also helped them with a trailer and going to a store to pick up some new furniture they had bought. But it was really fun! When I have to move I'm not such a big fan of it but when other people move I have fun with it Haha. Then that night we went to tract student housing! Student housing is my favorite. But we went and knocked some doors for about 15 min before we got a let in and got to teach them about the restoration. He had some way good questions. Asked some questions that I haven't heard on my mission before like "what did the angel Moroni look like?" But we talked for a while. He said he was interested in talking to us and learning but isn't interested in anything or trying anything just hearing what we have to say. So we will see how it goes. He told us he saw us on the street the day before and he usually turns all theJehovahs Witnesses and other religious people away. But he let us in. So we will see what happens.
Friday we got up and did our studies and everything that we usually do in the afternoon... cause we had meetings that night and we had to get weekly planning done. So sadly we were kinda stuck at home for a little bit. Weekly planning has been kinda killing me lately as you can tell lately cause I say every week i feel like we do it all the time. Yet here we are again weekly planning Haha. But we got it all done and then went to a DA with a member. It was so much fun! So this family... two of their kids are blind and they are the coolest guys and they are hilarious!!:) But also at church the Sunday before they had asked us to talk about the question Is God Real? Cause it would help some family members if we talked about it. So we talked about it and about the Book of Mormon and had a great discussion. So it was way cool! We then went to visit a less active and we weren't there too long cause his friend came to pick him up. We went and followed up with some friends and then went contacting by the sea. We said hello to some prisoners who were watching the sunset from their cells and talking to each other:)) They were nice guys.
Saturday was a really quick day. We were doing personal study and we got a call from a guy and he told us he is interested in learning about Jesus and wanted to meet with us. So we set up an appointment for that afternoon which he asked to move it to Sunday... so we moved it to then. We did some tracting and were tracting in student housing and talked to some way nice people. Some people took a Book of Mormon so hopefully we can meet with them again and talk some more. We also went and played soccer with some friends. There was a group of college guys there so we asked if they would like to play with us and get a game going. Well.. I started playing against Africans, then I played guys from Nepal who were really good  and then this past week we played guys from Portugal, Spain, Germany, Czech, and Mexico. They were wayyyy good. But we played pretty well and it was wayy fun!
Sunday was a relaxing day if you can have that on a mission. We had some random guy walk into church and he sat with us in sacrament meeting for a little but cause he left and them came back. But during second hour we went to a different place in the church to talk. But man not to be rude, but I was ready to slap this guy. It drives me nuts when people try to tell me that what we are talking about is not true. And he was going on about some other stuff and me and Elder Andersen just looked at each other...like what the heck are we supposed to do with this guy. But we continued to meet with him. And it got a little but better. But he left with a book of Mormon and said he was ready to meet again. So we will see what happens. We talked with a lot of members and a couple from Utah who was visiting to do some family history stuff. So it was fun talking to them. And we had a lot of fun chatting with members at church. Since it was fast Sunday Elder Andersen and I had a big meal planned for dinner. Thanks to our crock pot, our dinner spinner cooking app, and the Finnish grocery store...we only had to wait 8 hours of cooking and BAM!!! We had ourselves sweet pork burritos for dinner. And boy were they good!! We are gonna make it again cause it was pretty cheap to make and we think we can make it better... but wow that was the greatest thing ever to eat after not eating all day. Then that night we have a less active that we are working with and he's working on some stuff. So to help cheer him up we brought him a burrito and walked down to the beach and sat at a picnic table with him. We had some way good weather too and a nice breeze... so it was way nice to be outside. And we are also happy to report that the burrito we made him he said it was the best burrito hes ever had. Not saying much cause finns can't make Mexican food but we took it as an honor haha.
Monday was a pretty normal day in the life of good ol missionary work. We got up and headed out in the morning to do some tracting and lucky for us it was poring rain. I actually really enjoy tracting in the rain. Maybe it's just cause it's something different and switches it up but it's pretty fun. And I have this weird obsession that if there is a puddle nearby.. I gotta step in it, luckily the shoes are water proof and I'm careful to not make a big splash but it's fun. Not much came from it. We did some studies and then headed back out to find some more people. We ended up on the phone with the zone leaders cause they wanted to review zone conference with all the companionships in the zone to see how it helped. We made some more burritos for dinner from left over pork and went to a lesson. He was an hour late and changed locations on us. He told us he couldn't come to the church cause his fingers got caught in the door and got squeezed. I guess having a few sore fingers takes away all ability to function:)) So we went to meet him at his house and taught him the plan of salvation. Which when we asked if he had any questions about the lessons he asked if we could  bless a ring and give it to him for protection. Which we answered that we could pray for him and give him one of those ctr rings that we give to kids and he seemed satisfied with that. So interesting lesson for sure Haha.
It's been a great week here in Finland! I am loving every second!
