#78 A lot of tracting

I'm honestly just too tired to come up with an intro.... so here ya go Haha.
Wednesday was a pretty good day! We headed out for a morning tracting block and I think we maybe got to talk to 3 people Haha. But hey that's okay, me and elder Roylance had a good time. Then it was home for some lunch and studies. During lunch lately we listen to a talk by someone... and that's been fun. There is a lot of good stuff out there. Then it was back to the tracting grind and we met this way cool lady from Ghana. She told us to come back Friday so that we could talk.... so we were pretty excited about that. Then while tracting we ran into some Jehovas Witnesses but we didn't talk... just said hi and kept going. Now this is probably mean of me.... but I get like competitive when the Jehovas Witnesses are tracting in the area we are:))). So I saw them walking to the next building and they beat us to the first part of the building but we went to the same building. We went to the other end and as we were walking in they saw us and then left... cause they didn't want to tract by us. It's kinda mean but they ruin tracting for us. So sometimes I go in and swipe a building from them so they will go someplace else cause if the JWs beat us there and we happen to go in... then everyone is mad  cause they think we are JWs. But it gets annoying when they take your building:))). So yeah that happened. We had dinner and then went to our youth night. It was the Valentines day part and we had 2 people there. So we played ping pong for while and after that we played some weird game with a cup that a member had made up Haha. And then we ate cookies and juice. So it was a blast just us...the leaders and our 2 people that came. But I had a good time.... I'll never turn down free cookies:)). And that was about our night haha.

Thursday was a pretty normal day. We biked out to an area closer to the edge of town to some buildings that we had not been to before. And we got kinda wrecked:) We met some very grumpy and mean people. I'm sure the stray cats must  have peed in their cheerios that morning. But we also talked to one guy who said that we believed in a different Holy Spirit because we believed in the Book of Mormon. I proceeded to tell him that we all believe in the same spirit and the same God but for some reason he thought different. He told us that the Book of Mormon wasn't true. I then asked if he'd ever read it before... he then told me he hadn't read it and said he wouldn't... to which I followed up with the question of how he could have an answer that the book is not true if he had never read it. He didn't have a response for that. No... I don't do that at every door.... but sometimes it gets tiring to have people tell you what you believe and know to be true that isn't true. But how can anyone say that without actually reading it? It gets frustrating... so sometimes I call people out and ask why they think the way they do and after 18 months I have yet to receive an answer:)) But after that tracting block we went back for some lunch and then prepared a lesson for Thure. We had a review lesson with him about the first part of the plan of salvation. We are taking the review slow and starting early cause he has memory problems so we are doing everything we can to make sure he understand everything. But he's doing great! It's always good to see Thure. After teaching Thure we went home and had some dinner and then went out for a good night tracting block. It had started to snow while we were out there so a fresh layer of snow on top of a fat layer of ice makes for some fun biking conditions Haha. But nobody fell so that is a plus Haha. But we had a good time, we got to talk to a lot of people. None of them were interested but we talked to a lot of people so it was a good night!! Closed off the night with studying Swedish.

Friday we woke up to some clear blue skies so I was way excited for that!:)  We went tracting that morning and not many people were home. The mornings are pretty slow usually cause either people are gone at work and school or they are asleep and get up way late Haha. We also went to follow up with a potential but he sadly did not answer. But he did text us later that he wasn't feeling well so he didn't answer. So I was pretty happy that he had texted us back... so we will see him another time. We had some lunch and then started weekly planning. The sun was high in the sky, or at least high enough to get above the other apartment building by us so the sun was going strong in our apartment and so during weekly planning I just basked in the sun and soaked it up. It felt soo good to sit there with my face in the sun again:)) I sure did miss it!! But we planned some more splits with missionaries and planned for the next week. Then we had to go meet up with our friend from Ghana who told us to come back. Well... she ghosted us Haha. Trust me I know it sounds a little negative when people don't show up.... or like the day before when people get mad at us. Trust me I'm still as happy as can be or content in the moment and then happy later after all this happens Haha. But by then with travel and waiting for her and travel again it was dinner time. Then Swedish studies and then we went to the branch sähly night. That was way fun we had a lot more people there so it got more competitive and that was way fun. But running back and forth in a gym for over an hour and a half straight... you get tired haha. But we biked home and that was our day. Also can't remember if I already mentioned it or not but Magareta dropped us. So that was a bummer.

Saturday was a lowkey day.... we went and tracted in the morning. Not to much happening in the morning. We did that and then we went back home for lunch and then we did our studies. We went to visit our awesome member Pekka cause he teaches us Finnish and he's been a little sick... so we have had to take a break. But we are up and running with visiting him and he teaches us Finnish and about the Finnish culture.... and we help him around his apartment. So that was way fun! Then we went for some dinner and then back out to tracting. We got to talk to a lot of people which was good and one lady took a Book of Mormon which was awesome! And then we biked back home and did some Swedish studies.

Sunday was a way fun day! We went to church and were chatting with our members but after church was fun! We had a valentine's day lunch with thre branch. It's way better in Finnish.... Ystävänpäivä ...which means Friends day. But we had some Russian soup that was made. Pretty good, not sure what was in it, I did spot some black beans and that's all I could figure out.... but it was way good and red. Also funny cause we live in Finland, in a Swedish area, and we sang happy birthday to a Russian in English! Never thought that would happen in your life.... but I guess there is a first for everything Haha.  It was funny at church.... Sven who is German was talking with his wife and the branch President and us could hear them  talking about types of bacteria and he looked over at us and gave us this big smile and a silent plea for help to get him out of a boring conversation:))). And we were cracking up. Then we had studies and went tracting. We met some homies just taking part of some Mary Jane.... and for those of you who don't know what that is its Weed, Marijuana. So we talked to some interesting people Haha. Then we went to Pekkas. He wants to catch up from lost time and he needed some help. I love Pekka... he's just awesome. He showed us a photo album from his mission which was interesting to look at. I was trying to not laugh when elder Roylance asked if he wanted him to put the book back and to which Pekka replied "Are you sure? Do you have the energy?" Then elder Roylance took the book and Pekka said "be careful don't hurt yourself"... gotta love Pekka... always looking out for us Haha.  But then we ended the night and had sweet pork burritos for dinner and that was it. I also tried my cilantro dressing I made.... but it's missing a few things. I think it's because some stuff in the recipe you can't buy in Finland...but I improvised and it turned out pretty good. So yay me:))
Monday was a really quick day. We had some studies in the morning and then went to Nykarleby. We went down and got our usual pizza for lunch and then went tracting. It was another slow day but during our tracting block we took a detour to walk through the woods to the next buildings. It was way fun and way nice to take a short little break and walk in the woods. We are pretty lucky to be surrounded by the woods almost everywhere we go. Also we tried to take a selfie and I realized I am the worst picture taker. We were facing the sun in my defense.... but I had clicked the button 3 times. Well you know Elder Love and his great skills that he has... I missed the button all 3 times Haha Haha. And it was too bright to see... so I just said I'd check them later Haha. But yeah.... no photo to capture that great event. I will say to miss it 3 times takes some skill.... so maybe it just proves on how skilled I really am? We had a dinner a with Veli and Sisar Kleis. They are one of my favorite couples here.... he's from Germany and she's from Brazil. They are the funniest couple ever. I wish I could have had a go pro on or something cause that was the funniest thing ever haha. Then we met with our friend Jenni. That was an interesting lesson.... for the fact she ghosted us for 3 weeks but we will see what happens.
That was it and Monday ended.

Hope y'all had a good week!

Elder Love out
