#80 District council and Tacos

Don't really know how to introduce these weeklies anymore.. though I think I never have:)) I guess y'all are just tuning in to the next episode of Elder Loves mission. Hope you enjoy.

Wednesday was a pretty chill day. We got up early that morning and we traveled to Vaasa for district council. That was a lot of fun having it be the last one of the transfer and getting to see the boys again... and President joined our district council as well. We had a good chat about the Book of Mormon and how we can use it in the work effectively as well as what the Book of Mormon is and what it does for us. It was a great district council. The Book of Mormon is kind of like the ultimate trump card to any anti you face. That's one of the conclusions we came to Haha. But it's true that the Book of Mormon does bring us a lot more information and helps clarify things in the bible. But it's another testament of Jesus Christ. Why so many people have a problem with more words about Jesus Christ I seriously don't understand. But seems like the whole world has a problem with it. But sooner or later everyone will know the truth, either you hear it from friends, missionaries, or I guess God himself. Also after district council we had some lunch and we met with President. It's always good to meet with President and chat with him. We talked a little bit about biking and running and then we got into the important stuff Haha. But it was a good meeting with him and he's just awesome. Then we said bye to the elders and caught our bus back to Jakobstad. We had some dinner and then we went to the church to write up our spiritual thought for the ward and go follow up with some potentials. And then we came home for a late dinner and then our day was over.

Thursday was kind of a weird day. We started out by doing all of our studies in the morning and got that all done and had some lunch. We did some follow up work and then we went to our youth night... or I guess in this case it's the youth day. Elder Roylance and I were in charge of the taco bar while all the leaders and the girls did a clothing drive and got tons of clothes ready and they like made hats and stuff to be donated. Elder Roylance and I made a taco bar. So we had some fresh veggies chopped, sauces, a ton of meat and good ol tortillas. Now if it was me in charge they would have been a little better cause my only seasoning I was given was salt:)). Well ya need some more than just salt to make some ground beef taste good and like tacos:)). I cooked with what I was given. Then all the girls came up and told us what they wanted and then we made them for them. I guess I can now say I have some experience working in fast food:) It should count when you have a bunch of hyper Romanian girls telling you what they want on their tacos Haha and we made a lot of them. That took a long time with making food, and doing the cleanup of the church. So we went home and made ourselves dinner cause the girls ate all the food. So we had some dinner and then went out to do some tracting and then went to the church to teach our friend Larisa English. She already speaks pretty decent English so it should be a little easier than teaching someone from scratch. And that was our day.

Friday not much really happened.... it was transfer call day so that was the big exciting thing. But Friday we did weekly planning and met with our friend Thure and finished teaching him about the Plan of Salvation. And we had a DA with the Back family and that was way fun. They are one of my favorite families in the branch. We had some way good tacos and some mud cake for dessert. And then that night we went to our branch sähly night and we had a lot of people there so that was way fun! We had some friends and lots of ward members... it was quite exciting and very fun. Now about what's happening for transfers. I will be staying in Jakobstad for another transfer. My new companion will be Elder Kuntz. He is from Denmark and he has been in the country for only 2 months so I will be finishing his training. I will teach him Finnish and Swedish... but I don't think the Swedish should be too hard for him Haha. I will also be the District leader so I hope this kid likes travel.... cause we are going to be wayy busy next transfers and we will be going a lot of places Haha.

Saturday was a pretty normal day or at least more normal than most of our days. But we had studies in the morning with lunch and then we went to go do some service for our friend Kenneth. We helped him put some light up on the outside of his house and then helped him with some stuff with his walls on the inside of his house. So that was fun. After him we biked over to an area and started tracting. Not a lot of people home cause they are all still on their ski breaks but we got to talk to a few people. We went home and had some salmon casserole for dinner which was pretty good. It was the first time I made it so I was Happy with the first time turn out. Then that night it started snowing and we went out to follow up with a potential and then we tracted the rest of the night out. We got to talk to a lot more people which was better but not a lot of people that interested in talking with us:) Haha.

Sunday was a pretty chill day. We had church  and it was just fast and testimony meeting. Me and elder Roylance taught Sunday school and that was way fun. We taught the Finnish class and it was crazy. They took the conversation from Isaiah to the Corona Virus to how the Lord teaches us little by little Haha. So that was way fun. After church we went to say bye to members for Elder Roylance. We went to visit our friend Jenni and we chatted with her for a while so it was good to chat with her cause she had been out of town. Then the glorious time of dinner came and we finally had food.... and that felt great on a Fast Sunday. So we had dinner and then went out tracting and brought people the good word. They didn't really want the good word but we enjoyed it Haha. And the night ended with some studies and the day was over.

Hope y'all have a good week!
Elder Love out
