#81 First week of transfer

It's been a busy week with transfers and all that stuff going on. But most importantly it's been a way fun week and I'm excited to see where this transfer goes.

Wednesday was a pretty crazy for it being the first day of the transfer. We had studies in the morning as usual and then we went to meet up with a less active member who invited us over. We hadn't seen him in a while. Travel around the city will be a little slow this week since Elder Kuntz doesn't get his bike until next week. So we get a lot of walking done around town Haha. But we went to visit Freddy who is one of my favorite people, the guy cracks me up. I introduced Elder Kuntz and we chatted with Freddy for a while. It was a good chat to catch up cause it had been a few months. After Freddy.. it was lunch time and then we did some studies. We got interrupted by Sister Aura and so we talked with her for a little bit Haha. But after her home call we had to head over to a former investigator's place who we had received some word about that we should check on him. So we went over and chatted with him for a little bit. He's been  having a lot of stuff going on... so he was pretty grateful that we stopped by to see him. But after him we had to go right over to the church for our youth night! It was way fun... we played lots of ping pong, had a drawing contest, and played uno...along with having some baked goods:)) It is always so fun to go hang out with all the younglings:)). And then we walked home in a snow storm and had a late dinner:))

Thursday was a pretty busy. We got up early and bussed down to Vaasa for district council. So we bussed down and hung out at the Vaasa apartment for a little but before going to district council. We have a really young district but they are a good group of guys so it was pretty fun and should be a good transfer. We ate some lunch and then taught the Vaasa elders some Swedish so they can go do work in some of the areas where there is a majority of Swedish people. We bussed back and we had some dinner... and then we went to follow up with a potential. She lives a bit away so it took us a while to walk there and didn't really get to tract much... cause after we set up a lesson with her we had to walk back to make it home in time to study Swedish Haha.

Friday we went out to do some tracting and it was going pretty slow so we decided to try some street contacting to see if we could talk to anyone there. We saw one of our friends so we chatted with them for a little bit... and then I swear the only people that were out on the streets that day were Jehovas Witnesses cause they are literally the only people we ran into. The only people that  will to stop and talk to us were the JWs... so that made for some interesting contacting. But we went home for lunch and weekly planning. Weekly planning took forever cause I had to catch Elder Kuntz up on everyone.. which isn't too many people.... but their stories are way complicated so we talked a lot about them and set goals and planned for the next week. That look a big chunk of time so then we made some dinner and then we walked to our sähly night. Playing sähly was way fun and we had a good couple of ward members come... so that was good... and we had our friend Davood come who was finally back from vacation. And that was the rest of our day but a pretty good day at that.

Saturday was a way good day. We started out with some studies in the morning and we went to go help Feddy's father-in-law move some stuff out of his apartment... cause hes moving out of Pietarsaari. The washers and dryers are getting a bit easier to move...I think they are a bit harder in America cause they are a lot bigger there. But we moved a lot of stuff and played a good game of tetris to get everything to fit. He drove us over to Freddy's home cause they were feeding us some lunch... and so we had lunch with Freddy and his daughter and we talked about anything and everything. But it was way fun to see them again this week and talk with them so that was awesome. And after the move and lunch we came back and we finished our weekly planning cause for some reason it took forever this week Haha. But that night we went tracting and not a lot of people answered but we did get to chat with this way cool guy from the middle east. And he gave us some way good cookies and his kids were hilarious Haha. Poor guy too had just broken his nose the day before so that's not fun. But he was still way friendly.

Sunday Holy Cow that was a really busy day it seemed like. So we had church and that was busy cause it was branch Conference. But I was busy cause I had to translate the whole sacrament meeting to a member. And it didn't help cause she wanted to make comments to me about the talk so she started talking... and then I'd lose my place of where the speaker was... and then when I'd pick back up she told me she was confused and she didn't understand how he got there. Well that's not my fault Haha. But we managed to make it through all of sacrament translating from either Finnish or Swedish to English for her. But the next hour we had another special meeting and it was majority in Swedish so then I had to translate to a member who only knows Finnish. So that was a lot harder but we managed and had a good laugh every once in a while Haha. But then the Mäkeläs invited us over for some dinner and so we went there right after church and chatted with them. We had some way good food as well. We had potatoes, fish, salad, bread and I was waaay stuffed.... and then they brought out the dessert and then that thing happens ya know when your body all of a sudden creates another stomach. You all of a sudden feel like you can eat anything... so yeah that happened haha and we munched on dessert and we left with our stomachs full and feeling great:)) Then we went to teach our less active friend Ville. He talked to us about salt for like 45 minutes and then we finally got our turn and we started watching the restoration video with him. Then like 2 min in he asked us to pause it so he could make a comment. I was waiting for some great profound comment or testimony about Joseph Smith... but instead this is what we got. "I got this new deodorant that really makes me sweat and I don't like it. Do you want it or maybe know someone who would like to have it?" I was thinking like you've got to be kidding me:))) at the same time of trying not to laugh at this comment haha. But we did eventually get to watch the video after taking care of that and had a great discussion with him about Joseph Smith and Jesus. After that we went home for what was gonna be dinner but we were way too full still... so we decided to have something small later Haha. But then we went to visit another member real quick and then we had to catch up on our language studies that we had missed cause of our weird schedule throughout the day. But a way good Sunday.

Monday was another crazy day were we were non stop all day. Really most days are like non stop but this day was like we had to hit everything perfectly if not we would miss something. So we went out tracting in the morning and we met this bro from Norway. He was a pretty cool dude and he took a Book of Mormon and said he'd take a look... so I guess we shall see what comes of that. Other than that not too many answers... but Elder Kuntz and I had a good time chatting and I was trying to teach him Finnish. Then we had lunch and studies and then rushed to our first lesson of the day which sadly our person ghosted us....but her husband was home...he was a cool guy... but told us to come back another time. So we walked over to our next appointment and got in a little early with our man Esa. We played some guitar and chatted with him. Mainly just chatted with him to help get his mind of everything that's going on in his life. But we had a good chat with him and I think we did a good job at helping him out. He was very appreciative that we came over. And then we made the long walk back home and then hurried and cooked dinner and then ate that really quick so that we could get to our lesson with Jenni. It ended with us running to her apartment to make it there on time Haha. But we had a good time with her. She showed us a few songs she had written and let Elder Kuntz get to know her better. We played some music with Elder Kuntz on the piano, Jenni on the violin, and me on the guitar and played a little. It seemed to calm Jenni down and we had a great conversation about Lehi's dream. Someone had mentioned it in a talk and wanted to talk about it. When  she asked if that's what we could talk about I remembered a part from the talk where they talked about the fruit and what it means. And so me and Elder Kuntz studied for that.... having the feeling that's what she would ask. And that's exactly the question she had on her mind and we had a way good talk about it.

And that was the week. It's been waaay busy... but it's been a way good week and we got lots more coming up so we will be busy but that's great!
