#91 The Facebook Find n Grind

Honestly this week has gone by sooo fast... but at the same time it's been a really long week so I guess that's a win win. Fast days but a long week. That's the way I like it Haha.

Wednesday was a way fun day! So the day started out with us getting a text from the sisters asking if we could help them make an ad. The mission is having some companionships make video ads to be put on Facebook. So later that day we said we would help them out so you'll hear about that later. But we had district council and that went really well! We talked about planning for baptism and worked on the baptismal invitation as well to make sure we got that down. After that, we ate lunch with the district via phone and that was way fun! The afternoon was filled with some studies, we taught Elder Larson's Russian aunt some English and before we knew it we were needing to make dinner. After dinner we had a small language study and then went to help the sisters film their ad. So it was the sisters, our member friend Daniel, and us and we went to lil Turku. It is this pretty cool park that is like a mini layout of Turku... so it's pretty cool. So the sisters told us their idea of the video and how we would be helping. Daniel was the one who was filming the ad, I was water boy (yeah didn't think I'd ever be a water boy but hey I did it haha) and Elder Larson was map man. We also just carried stuff and did some other stuff to help with the video. I had to throw water on their umbrella and Elder Larson was in charge of giving the sisters a map Haha. We didn't do much but the video turned out great because of our help:)). So that was a pretty fun day!

Thursday was a pretty low key day. We had lots of Facebook finding in the morning and some companionship study. Not much happened in the morning but it was good. We had some lunch and then took a good ole walk. After our walk we had language study with a ward member and we just practiced speaking and conversational stuff. Plus that way too we could also get to know our members a little bit better as well so it was a win win:)). After that we did some Facebook finding up until dinner time. We had a gospel study with the Kouvola, and Pori elders and that was way fun! Getting 6 elders on one call was awesome!. We ended the night with some more Facebook finding and then we had a mission wide call.

Friday was a pretty busy day. It started out as usual with some Facebook finding in the morning and some companionship study. After lunch we were planning to do some weekly planning but a member invited us to come help out in their garden and BBQ after.... so we jumped on that right away. Daniel came to pick us up and we went to his house. We helped him and his mom dig up a bunch of weeds and turn over the dirt and help get it ready so they can start to plant stuff. I haven't done yard work in a long time and that was really fun! And after while we BBQ'd... we had some lawn games going and had some amazing food. Wow that was way good and got some way good dessert and strawberries. Holy cow that was some dang good food my friends. It was delicious. We came home and got changed and met with a returning member Jukka Pekka and read in the Book of Mormon with him and had a good chat. He kinda went off a little bit about his thoughts on Jehovas Witnesses and I was cracking up, the guy is hilarious Haha. But meeting with him was a way good way to end the night.

Saturday was a crazy busy day!. So we had splits with the zone leaders and it was go go go all day long. We started out  on the Facebook find n grind. We joined some more groups and we messaged a few people trying to get some conversations started. It went way fast and it was way fun getting to work with Elder Isom. After that first finding block we had some comp study and we all studied together and prepped for some lessons that we had later that day. Did some lunch and then had language study. We played an old missionary game that I have played for a while called the Fred game. So that means you take the grammar book Fred and you find a random example sentence in the book and the others have to translate it and try to get as close to the original sentence as you can. It's way hard but it's way fun! So we did that for language study. We then had another Facebook finding block and I was working with Elder Kimball and that went way well, we got to chat with a few people and that was fun! We had some dinner and then Elder Kimball and I were going to teach a small lesson to a member family but sadly that fell through so what did that mean? We hopped back onto the Facebook find n grind and we did that for a while Haha. Elder Isom and Elder Larson taught a lesson to our friend Piia and that went really well.... so that was awesome to hear. And we capped off the night with some splits review and set some goals and that was the day. Way fun getting to work with Elder Isom and Kimball again.... but man it was a busy day:)).

Sunday was a more chill day. We walked to church in the morning and met the elders and sisters for church. We had a pretty good meeting and had a good come follow me session with the district. After church we had a lot of fun eating lunch together and getting to chat as well. It's so fun to be with people Haha oh how I missed them haha.  On the way back from church we got caught in the rain so we had to strategically plan out each spot we would run to so we wouldn't get too wet:)). But yeah it was raining pretty good so we got home pretty wet:)). The rest of the day blew by with studies and we also met with Elder Larsons family and helped his younger brother with some seminary stuff. And then the day was over and we had call ins and chatted with the missionaries in our district and that was way fun! We were cracking up it was some very funny phone calls haha but we also got done what we needed too so don't you worry:))

Monday went by in the blink of an eye.  We were way busy all day with people on Facebook. That morning we messaged some people and well let's just say I think there is some magnet between the missionaries and weird people. Cause I swear i find them all the time or sometimes they are the only ones willing to talk haha. But we had lunch and went for a walk which was way nice to get out. We had some studies in the afternoon and were supposed to help the Rauma elders with a lesson but it fell through... so that might be happening later this week. But then we got back on the Favebook find n grind and talked to some more people. We actually have a really nice person we are talking to. They didn't seem all too excited when I told her I was a missionary which I don't understand... cause the missionaries are awesome! But they didn't leave us on red so we are going to try again Haha. That lasted till the night and we finished our day with the mission wide zoom call.

That's it! It's been a busy but a way fun week! Turku is literally the bomb Haha. Guess we shall see what the next week has in store:)).
