#90 Turku is legit

This week has been crazy but way fun!

Tuesday was a crazy day. We got all packed up and headed out. Our less active Freddy and his daughter came to pick us up to take us to the bus station which was awesome. I'm glad I got to say goodbye to him and his daughter before I left. And all the train rides went smooth and I chilled with a bunch of missionaries at the Tampere train station which was way fun. I rode on the train down to Turku with Elder Pauole and we had a good time chatting and getting to know each other, he's a cool elder. Then I met Elder Larson! We headed to our apartment and had some enchiladas that he and Elder Stanley had made. But wow Turku his HUGE compared to Jakobstad... but I sure will miss Jakobstad. Also our bathroom is huge compared to the last one. Huge plus:)).

Wednesday we got up and did studies and did some Facebook finding in the morning. That afternoon we went grocery shopping and walked around some of Turku and wow... this place is soooo cool! There is just stuff and people everywhere! In the center they have this big like farmer's market and food trucks. And I saw literally the nicest food truck in the world. I was so impressed (A Mercedes food truck:). Anywho... we then went home and did some more studies and finding. We made some good beef burritos and then went for a long walk around the city. We went by the river that runs in the middle of the city and divides the areas... and there were a ton of people out and a ton of bikers as well. Not sure why... but they were all hanging out like 150-200 of them. But we walked over a good chunk of the main part of the city. So that was way fun, I'm way excited to be in Turku!

Thursday we got up and did studies and got prepped for District council. It was a lot of fun getting to know all the other missionaries and we had a lot of get to know you time. We as well all got to each lunch together over the phone which was fun. After lunch we took a walk and saw some more of the city by where we live, and then came back for some studies and doing some Finnish study... and then setting goals for the transfer. We are excited for this transfer and maybe this transfer we will also get out of the apartment hahaha. We went out for a quick walk and then came back for some Facebook finding and then had a meeting with the mission that night.

Friday was a day full of studies and planning. We actually went for a run in the morning which was way nice. Running through the city and across the river to the church. Helped wake me up faster as well which was way nice.  We had a good little Facebook session in the morning and then we did some companionship study. We decided to switch it up so we went to the church to do our weekly planning there so we could be somewhere else besides the apartment. After weekly planning we came back to the apartment to make some pizza and then do some Finnish studies. That night we also had a lesson with a returning member and boy was that a little strange haha. I hadn't taught a whole lesson in Finnish in a while but it went great! Jukka Pekka is an awesome guy so I'm excited to get to teach him more. And to top off the night we had a mission wide zoom call and had a small devotional about the Doctrine of Christ in 3rd Nephi. So it was a way good way to end the day.

Saturday just seemed to be crazy busy! That morning during our facebook finding we made some posts in some groups to try to see if we could get some conversations started. We actually got the talking to a few people. Sadly 2 of our people don't live in Finland but hey maybe when we talk more we can send a referral to Africa. And another lady who had met with missionaries before found elder Larson on Facebook, so we started chatting with her and that went really well... so we shall see what happens. We took a little time also to clean the apartment a bit and make some brownies that we could bring to share with the other missionaries after church. We took a good walk down to the river and then came back and had another lesson. Don't get me wrong... I loved speaking Swedish when I could... but man I like Finnish so much better Haha. We had another lesson and I got to know one of our investigators and she's awesome! She likes Florida Georgia Line so I'd have to say we are gonna be best friends Haha. Then we did a quick gospel study with the Rauma elders and that was it. The day literally went by in the blink of an eye. One minute it's personal study, then its lunch, and before you know it, you're finishing up a lesson and the day is over. It goes by way to fast!

Sunday was a lot of fun! So we headed to the church and we met with the other missionaries here in Turku.... and what was way fun having church with other missionaries again.  So we tuned into the meeting in Tampere and and watched that. We then had come follow me with the district and that went pretty good. After church we all ate lunch together and got to talk a little more and that was awesome! Getting to see missionaries is great!:)) We talked with our ward mission leader for a little bit and then walked home. We had a few studies and then we called our families! Way fun to get to talk to them! And then that pretty much took up the night and I had call ins as well that night so I got to chat with all the missionaries again that night and hear about their weeks. So Sunday was a lot of fun!

Monday was another busy day. It was the first of what we call Member Monday. So that day was all primarily focused on calling members and introducing ourselves and seeing if there was any service that we could do for them. We had some wayyy good conversations with people and the members here are awesome! They were all so nice and we talked with them for a bit. We also got a call from the Turku 1 Elders Elder Stanley, and Pauole to help them with a video. So we made plans for that into our day. So we took a walk, came back for studies and made some dinner. Then we biked over to the church and we were down the street almost and Elder Larsons chain fell off... and we got fixed literally in seconds. I was surprised how hast we did it Haha. And at the church we met the elders and the sisters and we all sang Uskon Kristukseen "I Belive in Christ" and yes you read that right. I actually sang haha, I'm terrible... I sound like a dying duck but I sang haha but it was way fun being with the missionaries again. You can probably tell I am excited about being with other missionaries cause I haven't seen any in forever:)). Then that night we biked back and had a few more bike troubles but we got that taken care of and lots of good laughs were shared before getting back to the apartment. We then hopped on to the mission wide call and took part in the Family home evening cause Sister Aura asked us to share some thoughts. So we talked about christlike attributes and hearing him and it went really well!  The day was just a really busy day with a whole lot happening but it was way fun!

That's all I got from Turku this week and I'm sure there will be plenty more next week Haha. Hope y'all have a good week!
