#96 District council feast, transfer calls and kangaroo dinner

Okay.... well this week is gonna be shorter than normal cause we have just been pretty busy this week and are pretty busy today with getting ready for transfers and that stuff tomorrow.

Wednesday was a pretty low key day. We had our studies as usual and we did lots of Facebook finding and contacting. The great thing about the Finnish summer is that there are lots of people outside... but the tricky part is actually getting them to want to talk to you Haha. But it works out. We got on a bus to head to a lesson and about 10 min into the bus ride we remembered that our lesson was the next day and not that day. Well whoops haha. But it's okay, we just bussed out to an area and then did some contacting out there and while we waited for the bus for a half hour we contacted people on Facebook Haha. After that we went down by the river to meet Jukka Pekka our returning member. We had a really good chat with him and we talked a bit about missionary work and our own missions and what we have done. It was way nice to see him again and be outside to meet him and not just on a phone call:))

Thursday was a crazy busy day. So we had district council in the morning and we would be doing a contacting activity after and right after that we would be starting splits. So we got to the church pretty early to get all our lunch stuff ready cause we wanted to go all out with our first in person district council in a while... so I made the district sweet pork burritos:). Then we went to practice some songs. We then had lunch with everyone and that was really good and Elder Kimball made some cinnamon cake and elder Larson made banana bread. It was a huge lunch! We had a good district council and then we went out to do our contacting activity and it went well. We saw some members and talked to them... other than that we got a few people to talk to us but other than that we had a bunch of people ignore us Haha. That night we had splits with the Turku elders... but the Rauma elders tagged along cause they missed their bus and couldn't leave till the next morning... so we went to go teach two lessons that we had. I went with elder Stitcher and Pauole to teach one of their friends. The sisters gave him to the elders and I met him for the first time and he's a strange bird and we had a weird lesson. Had a headache by the end of it Haha. That night we went back to the apartment...and I slept on the parveke outside with Stanley.... the weather was so nice and we got enough shade to where you could sleep and it was great!

Friday we were all nervous cause it was transfer call day. I will be staying and finishing my mission in Turku and Elder Dosset is coming to me. He has been in Finland for 4 months so he's pretty young. He will be coming from Kuopio. That's the big news... and Elder Melton (from my MTC group) will be coming to the district and he's going home next transfer as well... so that will be way fun to have him in the district. Oh and that night we celebrated Juhannus with the elders and the sisters and we grilled. Elder Pauole  grilled up some good chicken and Daniel made some good chicken curry and rice and shrimp mixture. That was way fun and we also went to the river.... but the city was way dead so we ended the night with playing some mölkky in the park.

Saturday was a good day we did studies and went to do some contacting. We talked with some people on facebook.... but the best part of the day was our sports night. We played volleyball and that was way fun! We had some people from Israel, Egypt, and a couple bros from somewhere else in the middle east and we had a way good time playing volleyball with them. I love playing  volleyball especially in the sand, it makes it way more fun. And Daniel brought some watermelon and we ate that after. We stayed for a bit to talk to some of the new people that had come... and then  after that we talked with the missionaries for a little bit as well. But that was so much fun!!!

Sunday was way fun! We had our last Sunday meeting with our district which was pretty sad cause we had a really good district this transfer. But I guess all good things must come to an end. But we had a good time watching church and had a good come follow me lesson and discussion. After church  we ate lunch together and chatted for a bit and talked about transfers. After church elder Larson and I did a tad bit of cleaning and throwing out some stuff to do a bit of prep for the next transfer. We had some dinner and hopped on the Facebook find n grind. Then we had a spiritual thought with elder Larson's family and then got on that Facebook find n grind. Honestly I thought the Finns would open up on social media...but I was wrong.... they are just as quiet Haha and so seems everyone else in the world haha. I got to end of the night with doing a final round of call ins for the transfer and for my mission. So it was way good to chat with all the missionaries and hear about their weeks and get a good chat. I guess I will have to find something to do with my nine o'clock hours on Sundays cause I won't get to call anyone next transfer Haha.  But our new district leader will do great!

Anywho... that's the week... and we got a bit of a busy week set up this week.... and get a new mission President coming in like a week.... so we will for sure be on our toes adjusting to all the new stuff.
