#21 "Two years is enough to change a lifetime"

This week in Espoo has been pretty good and a little slower for us, but still an overall really good week... and like all the other ones....it went by really fast:).
Wednesday was a really fun day cause we had ZONE CONFERENCE! Now I spent all last transfer up in the north and so you don't get to know that many people... but holy cow the Helsinki zone has a ton on missionaries!! So that was a lot of fun cause I got to meet a lot of the other missionaries serving down here in Helsinki, along with saying hi to some of my MTC group... and say goodbye to some pretty cool people. It was a very good zone conference and I learned quite a bit from our president, along with the other missionaries. I would like to quote one of my good friends Elder Haws who said this in his final testimony because he is going home at the end of the transfer. "Two years is enough to change a lifetime" and it got me thinking a little bit. The rusty gears started to spin. He talked about how there is not a lot that you get done in 2 years, but you can do enough to change your life for the better. That is what we are doing. We come out and serve the Lord and preach His gospel and bring others unto him, but at the same time we are bringing ourselves closer to him and we are making a change in other peoples lives, as well as our own. This work blesses everyone, and if you work hard... you can make a huge change for the better. That is what we are always trying to do right? Self improve and make ourselves better right? Anyway just a thought..but zone conference was great and I really enjoyed it.
Thursday not much happened, we had a lesson cancel on us, so that just opened the door for a good tracking session and were we got a few potentials. We talked to a nice Jehovas witness but ended up turning it into a preaching session to us about his church... so that was interesting but a bust at the same time:)) We had a DA with this awesome old couple in our ward!  We went to their place for Christmas and they invited us over for dinner. They are probably one of my favorites in the ward cause they are so funny! They are just an old couple that just likes to have a good time and they have the coolest dogs! Other than getting to spend some good quality time with our members, nothing much happened that day. The metro has been all whacked this week so that hasn't been as successful... cause either there is literally not a soul on the train, or everybody and their mother is on there and nobody wants to talk haha. The funny thing with Fins, if you talk to them by themselves and nobody is sitting by them, then they will open up a little bit and talk to you... but if there is someone next to them then they wont talk to you... cause there is someone else that could listen to your conversation with them:) It's pretty funny and annoying at the same time cause nobody will talk to you:))
Friday we had an adventure to Pasila to go fix my bus pass and Elder Fitzpatricks:)) We took a way long bus ride cause the metro was down, and we ended up missing our stop. We had to get off and take another bus back and walk all over kingdom come to find the train station that would take us to Pasila:))). It was quite the adventure but we made it and got our passes working again and we returned home safely:)) We also went to eat at a place called Olearys and its a sports restaurant and lucky for me it was american day so I got to eat wings!!
Saturday we had our usual soccer playing in the morning with some ward members and investigators, which was way fun. We also had a lesson with an investigator who just wanted to tell us that all we need is a bible and we need nothing else. Doesn't help us to that this guy is working to become a preacher, so he is all for the bible. But we are still good friends and we will see if we can get him to read a little more of the Book of Mormon. We then got to meet with a less active member who I met for the first time and he is so cool! It was awesome getting to talk to him cause he is just a way cool guy. We then had a lesson with another one of our investigators who has literally been taught all the lessons multiple times.... and we are still working with him and never giving up. They are just not ready yet... but we will be there when they are ready... and we will keep teaching them to help them learn more.
Sunday we had church and that was great cause it was 2 hours haha. But we also got to meet these two cool kids that just showed up at church cause they had to visit a church for school and then report back to their class about it. So it was a great opportunity for us to teach them and help them out with the information that they needed. And of course it's always fun cause after church you get to chat with the members:)We have this sweet old lady who comes to us literally every single week and says "I have some candy for you guys" and then proceeds to whip out some candy bars:) and we can't help but laugh cause it happens every week:). Then we just tracted and contacted for the rest of the day.
Yesterday we just hit the doors and went out to find people, took a really cool picture of the sunset, and then met with one of our investigators who is one of the nicest guys you will meet... and it was a really good day. And then we spent P day eve after we had come back from our day just playing the guitar and having a good time:))
Well thats all he wrote folks haha quite literally:))
Elder Love out haha
