This week I would say we have seen quite a few miracles here in Finland. A big focus this transfer in the mission is that we believe in a God of miracles. So we look for the times when we really see Gods hand in the work. And he's been putting his hands all over the place in Finland:)). A lot has really just come from the last couple of days. We did our work through the week and it went pretty slow... literally one day all we got were doors slammed in our faces and nobody wanted to talk to us. I was just impressed at first on how many opened the door...and two.. how quick they were to close them!!.. so it was a little funny :)). But on Sunday we went to church and got to talk to a lot of ward members... and then we went out tracting... after making some sloppy joes and went to Pohjois Tapiola. Now.. we had found a building there that has over 100 doors in it and it was open... so we thought we had hit the jackpot when we found it. Well.. it's taken us a little bit of time... but we finally got to the building and we started tracting. The first door we knocked... we found this guy... and he was very interested in what the Book of Mormon was all about, and what it talked about. So we talked to him about the Book of Mormon and he took one and said that he was going to read it... and that we could talk to him about it. It's been a while since we have found another potential so this was a good start to the night.:) Then we made it a floor down and we ran into this couple. They were telling us about how they had met a few times with the JW's and they were way open to talk. We were thinking this meant a return appoint and then he's like "So you guys gonna come in?" and we were like yeah!!:) We went in and talked to them and we talked for a really long time about the gospel. They went on to tell us about all the cool different places in India we could go see, they talked about Finland and how weird the system is here. And I say they talked cause they just kept feeding us grapes:))... and they just went on and on and on. Then at the end they were like... you guys should come over for dinner and we could talk some more! We won't turn that down haha. So we are gonna go back and teach them and possibly get some good food out of it:)). Then Monday... we went back to the same building again, cause we only got through like half . We knocked the other half. We first met the nicest drunks I have ever met. They were so nice to us which we thought was strange.. cause usually you get yelled at and you just leave with them yelling at you while you walk down the hall. But these guys were way chill. Then while we are talking to this guy about the Book of Mormon they all decided to have this party in the other apartment and they came into to hall and they yelled down to us " Hey could you please leave cause you're annoying me"... we told him that we will leave right as we are done with our conversation with this guy and he replied with "I totally understand, that's fine, have a good night":))) So that was great for us... and after we were done talking to them... we gave this guy a Book of Mormon.. and we are gonna try to start teaching him as well. Then we went down a floor and we knocked this guys door... and the first thing he said after we introduced ourselves was "I would be really interested in talking with you guys and learning." So he invited us in and we started chatting. He remembered me cause I had street contacted him back in December but he had to catch a bus so we only got to get him a card. How crazy is that! So I was blown away by that!! We got to know each other and chatted and he had a guitar and asked me if I wanted to try. Now.. it's been a while since I played the few things that I learned:).. but I started playing and he started singing random lyrics and this was one of his lines " We are here talking about Jesus" and it sounded pretty good cause he used to be in a band.. so we had fun with that.:) We chatted some more about what we do as missionaries and having a really good conversation... and we get to go back and teach him as well. Such a cool guy! And who knew that someone we had street contacted like 3 months ago would be living in this apartment building we tracted. Miracles.
That's about all I got. Just wanted to share some cool experiences. Hope you all have a great week!
