Well, on Wednesday we had Zone Conference and that was a ton of fun!! It is always so fun to get to see all the other missionaries from the zone and you get to chat with them and you all get to hang out for the day... and its way fun. At zone conference there was a big focus on Love and loving the people we serve, loving the Lord, and loving ourselves. Now how I didn't see this coming, I have no idea... but you already know that when we are talking about love... everyone thinks its funny if they call on Elder Love to talk about love and read scriptures about love!!:)) I was very participant cause I was called on all of the time:)). I guess it just comes with the name:)). But it was a really good zone conference. It was fun to be able to talk to all the other missionaries there and catch up from last zone conference and meet all the new missionaries that have been transferred into the zone. That was about all of Wednesday and we had a lesson with this new guy that we found in our phone and he was way cool. And you know... I'm just speaking my best Finnish and there are two words "Kasvaa" I believe... its two a's at the end and then "Rasva". Kasvaa means to grow while Rasva means lotion. So we are in the lesson and I'm trying to say that Heavenly Father helps us grow... and I accidentally said Heavenly father helps us use lotion... and I sat there for a little bit and I'm thinking to myself... that is not right... and I couldn't remember that word that I was trying to say. Well, to make a happy ending... we have companions there to help us... and everything went okay and I got it fixed haha.
Thursday we just had a good day of tracting planned. We went to Hentaa to tract and go to some buildings that we had not been to before, and we started knocking... and I turned to elder Fitzpatrick and I'm like "We could literally be the only people in this entire building right now, literally nobody is answering and there is not a sound from any of these apartments hahah" And we keep going and we think its so funny that there is literally not a soul in this building. But we ended up knocking on this ladie's door and she answered!! We were pretty happy about that and we started talking and she's like " I'm busy now...but can you come back tomorrow at 11?" So of course we set up a lesson right then and there. And that was one of like 4 doors that opened to us that entire day:)). We had a DA with the old couple again that we eat with every week and we had a ton of fun with them telling stories, chatting, and all that. They are just such a fun old couple so its way fun to go over there.
Friday we had our lesson with that lady that we had set up and we invited a young man from the ward who is working on his papers, so he could get a look at the missionary work. Well we go over for the lesson thinking and planning to teach a single person and come to find out she is married...and her husband was home and we had an awesome lesson!!! At the end she asked "Where can I get one of those books? And we will come to church sometime and that is a promise. Also do you guys believe in tithing cause we strongly believe in paying tithing" we are like those are some very good questions that we can answer for you haha. It was a pretty great lesson. Then we had some weekly planning and visited some less actives and that was about the rest of our day.
Saturday we had a big day planned with 3 lessons. We were so excited cause it was going to be with a less active member that we have been working with, a lesson to possibly get a new investigator, and one with our investigator. It's like 20 min before our first lesson and we call him to make sure he is coming and its canceled. Well we didn't have enough time to go anywhere and tract and be able to come back before our next lesson... so we just street contacted and looked for a place to buy a map.... cause we need a new map haha. Turns out no place in Finland sells maps!:)) So we had to look for one online and find a place we could get one... and all we found were online maps which does not help at all:)) Then we went to go to our next lesson and we were waiting, and waiting, and decided to wait a little longer in case he showed up. And nothing:))... now we are 0\2 on lessons but we are positive that the last one that night was gonna work out... yeah that one got canceled as well:)) A solid 0/3 on lessons:). We were just laughing at how funny it was that they all canceled, it really isn't funny but to us it was funny:)).
Sunday we had church and were there for the historic meeting of Lohja getting their own branch!! So the sisters in Lohja were happy that they were finally getting their own ward in there...cause if not, they have to get investigators to drive over an hour to get to church and that's a little difficult. But church was fun and we had a good Sunday school class with some investigators... so that was good.
Monday we went with one of our members to visit a member in the hospital and that was a really cool experience. We came in and we talked for a little bit... Elder Fitzpatrick was asked to give him a blessing and giving blessings are so cool. We shared a spiritual message and it was so cool to be there... but also so sad to share a final spiritual message with someone. After that the member we were with took us to Ikea and got hot dogs.. cause he was so excited cause you can get two hot dogs and a drink for 1.50 euros:)) So we went there and had a small lunch with him. This guy is hilarious, he is a hoot. He just talks about how he dropped his phone in the toilet, these random murals on the walls by the road, he loves the one of this guy in a canoe for some reason haha. He just talks about anything and everything. Yells shotgun when he is the one who is driving haha. He is so much fun.
Well that's about all I got for this week. It's been great to have another week here in Espoo! Hope y'all have a good week!!
